On the 14th of March 2019, Divesther Africa facilitated a session during a school outreach to teenage girls at Government Secondary School Mabushi Abuja organised by Envision Global Care Foundation in commemoration of the International Women’s Day which held on the 8th of March.
Chidinma Chikwe, the founder of Divesther Africa led a session on Child Sexual Abuse and how to deal with it.
She also shared her experience of child sexual abuse with the teenagers and you could see on their faces that indeed the time to act is NOW.
After the session, a few of these teenagers summoned the courage to ask questions proving that the urgency in eradicating child sexual abuse is now.
Having these teenagers bare their hearts and ask questions they were unable to ask publicly could easily hint you that something is definitely wrong and a lot of teenagers-even adults need help but society is asking them to suck it up and take on life as it comes.
Child sexual abuse is real. Every child is at risk irrespective of nationality, race, social status and what not. We all have a part to play to end this menace, what are you doing? Are you part of the problem or the solution?
